1. Post 3 things you've done in your lifetime that you don't think anybody else on your friends list has done.
2. See if anybody else responds with "I've done that."
3. Have your friends cut & paste this into their journal to see what unique things they've done in their life.

Good weekend for the most part. We spent time in the pool, did some yard work and even managed to go see Iron Man. The movie was a terrific amount of fun, but I had a great deal of trouble getting out of my Work Head at some points. (Do you know how much the military would pay for an automatic fire system that could pinpoint civilian vs combatant and target appropriate? Do you? Aaah. Not to mention the infinite power source and...aaaah!) Anyway, still very enjoyable.

The Bit threw herself into Terrible Two mode yesterday morning (it took an hour to put on shoes), but was better after a nap, so we ran errands, got ice cream and took a lengthy dip in the pool. Luckily she wasn't nearly as bad on Saturday when she had her first "big kids" (age 3.5 - 5) gymnastics class. I was a little worried that she was too young, but the teacher said she held her own and did just fine, so we'll keep up with that.

And with that thrilling update, I offer you a meme:

Zombie Attack!
You are in a mall when the zombies attack. You have -

1. one weapon.
2. one song blasting on the speakers.
3. one famous person to fight alongside you

Weapon: Guns are handy when Zombies attack, but with a limited amount of ammo, they're not a long-term solution. I'd pick a nicely balanced and long crowbar for brain-crushing fun.

Song: Zombie crushing requires a song you can dance to, but which can also be blasted at top volume. Right now I'd pick Happy When It Rains by Garbage for my rampaging delight.

Fellow Combatant: Vin Diesel. This one is a no-brainer. The man is ripped (excellent for hurling zombies around), and he plays D&D, so he has surely considered the "Zombies Attack" scenario in the past and is likely prepared for it. Plus, if I'm going down crushed by a horde of zombies, there will damned well be eye-candy for me to look at during my last gasp.

a) List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself

1) In the mornings, I prefer to shower without turning on the lights. This isn't so odd during the summer when it's daylight, but in winter it often means that I shower completely in the dark.

2) I dislike drama in movie form. If it's not action or comedy, I generally avoid watching it. Since becoming a parent, I been forced to ration my movie watching, so it's only gotten more extreme. However, I will go out of my way to see dramatic plays; the Crucible is possibly my favorite play of all times.

3) I collect silver patterns.

4) I have extremely good color memory. I can generally go to a store and know exactly if something matches things that I have at the house. This is handy for picking out earrings, shirts and furniture.

5) The worst time of the day for me is between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 PM. If I'm alone in the house, I tend to get a little stir-crazy and twitchy. It makes business travel particularly rough for me, although I've learned to cope with it by going out for very long dinners or hitting the bookstore.

6) One of my favorite past-times is walking through empty and unfinished houses.

7) I have a Thing for voices which means that I adore being read to. Sadly, I'm not really good at processing auditory input, so I don't always follow the reading. Nevertheless, there is very little else that makes me feel as relaxed and happy as being curled up in bed while listening to someone read.

Optional tagging goes to Outlawcoon, Cnoocy, Sparkindarkness, Forestblend, Gamerguy, Holleyberry and Twelveoaks.

1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb (or Wikiquote, my personal favorite!) and find a quote from each movie. (or in some cases, just remember them.)
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it correctly and the name of the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb/Wikiquote search functions.

These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing's users (as of today). As usual, bold what you have read, italicize those you started but couldn't finish, and strike through what you couldn't stand. Add an asterisk to those you've read more than once. Underline those on your to-read list.

List below! )

I am a Red Nemesis. As far as I can tell, this translates to "You are a passionate but unfeeling bitch."

The Bit has slept for 8+ hours straight the past three nights in a row. It's a personal best for her, and her parents are deeply grateful for the sleep. It truely is a glorious thing.

Also, memory meme. I'm not really able to provide a lot of memories for folks, but if someone wants to post memories of me, feel free.

Official Text
If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

tLD's got a nasty cold and a mild ear infection. As such, this meme strikes me as a great idea.

So give me a compliment, anything in the entire world, even that my shoes are pretty. Put this in your journal, so I can return the favor. And once you get some comments, put that entry in a memory or tag so that when you are feeling down, you can go to that entry for a quick pick-me-up and a smile.

Am now somewhere between a 7 and an 8 on the "how do you feel" scale. Climbed up from around a 4 at the lowest point this week. Haaate.

And now the lyrics meme. 25 lyrics that you feel like posting/have some meaning to you.

You'll never get them all. )

Based upon what you know about me, suggest an activity to do that is something I may not have considered but would probably enjoy. If feasible, I will endeavor to do that particular activity sometime in the next, oh, year, and I'll report back on how it went.

Name 12 characters you have played in RPGs, before looking at the questions that follow. List your characters numbered 1 to 12, with the name of the RPG you played them in. Once you've picked your 12 characters, look at the questions and answer accordingly. (No peeking until you've picked your characters!) Put your answers behind a cut.

1) Ashes - Snake Shaman from a Shadowrun game. Fairly cold-blooded and twisted, she spent her formative years working for a Horror who had implanted a cortex bomb in her head.

2) Nikitia - King's Gate, Trow, Fire Mage. Possibly one of the saner characters on this list which is saying something.

3) Jan Soaringbird - Dreamspeaker (Mage). Utterly bug-fuck; she hears the voice of Gaia screaming in her head if she is ever someplace utterly silent. Carries a large jackhammer and is prone to jackhammering roads to pieces.

4) Robyn (Mark 1) - D&D, 2nd Ed. Thief (no, not rogue. Thief). Undead but not evil. (Don't ask, [ profile] sulleniguana; it would hurt your head. Bouncy, cheerful, prone to wearing bright colors.

5) Amber - Paladin of Fire, D&D. Paladin.

6) Thera - Shattered Isles, Metal Bonder.

7) Lili - Nephandi, GarouMUSH. Serial Killer who slaughtered 24 virgins every Halloween to renew her youth.

8) Horatio - Silver Fang Ragabash, GarouMUSH. Insane Silver Fang pianist. Gay.

9) Anna - Get of Fenris Ahroun, GarouMUSH. Dyke Bitch with a really nasty temper and a mean right hook.

10) Eleanor - Wolf Bonder, King's Gate. Mystic wise-woman type.

11) Myste - Centaur, KrynnMUSH. Fighter/teacher type. I still miss this character.

12) Coriander - Wildlands South, Undead. Evil fighter chick.

Post a real or imaginary rumor that you have heard about me. Let me know if you made the rumor up or have actually heard it (and if so, if you believe it.) I'll compile them in a secondary post and allow folks to guess which ones are actual rumors and which ones are false. Depending on the rumors, I may confirm, deny or no comment as to their truth or falsehood.

Comments will be screened so as to not spoil the surprise. Rumors that are potentially nasty or damaging will not be posted.
